On Wednesday, October 11th, the juniors will be taking the ASVAB test. This test is a nice way to measure abilities and interest. This test will be done on Chromebooks. Please remind your child to bring a charged Chromebook to school on Wednesday. These students will have an interpretation and career exploration on October 31st to see their scores and career results.

Today is National Walk to School Day. Our School is the recipient of the Safe Routes to School Planning Grant which will help our School plan safe travel for our pedestrians and cyclists. Walking to school allows for a little bit of exercise before starting the day and improves our children's learning. Our parents should be on the lookout for a survey to fill out and help us continue in planning for improvements that we hope will increase walking, cycling, and safe traffic around our school.

October is College Knowledge Month! During the month of October, I will be sending students in grades 9-12 a daily email with links to college and career related topics. There will also be a daily question related to the day's topic. All students answering correctly will get entered into a drawing for a prize each Friday in October. Today's topic was Free Applications to Minnesota State and Colleges and Universities. Several colleges waive application fees during the month of October. Please encourage your child to get their applications in this month!

The 2nd Graders went on a field trip to Prairie Wetlands Learning Center, followed by a visit to Otter Cove Children's Museum in Fergus Falls. The students loved discovering, looking at, and listening to nature at PWLC. At the museum, students could explore an indoor playground area, pretend play in a variety of recreated storefronts, entertain themselves with some arts and crafts, and much more.
