Concert

Hello Osakis Community!

All are invited to a free concert on Saturday, November 5th at 7:30 pm in the Osakis High School Auditorium.  It is a joint concert with the Osakis High School band and the North Dakota State University Symphony.

"The NDSU Wind Symphony, under the direction of Dr. Warren Olfert, will present its 2022 Fall Tour in November, featuring works from composers that include Dmitri Shostakovich, David Maslanka, John Williams, Eric Whitacre, and David Gillingham.
The North Dakota State University Wind Symphony traces its roots back over 100 years in the legacy of NDSU’s Gold Star Band and its founder, Dr. C.S. Putnam. Over the years, the band has developed a rich tradition of excellence, which continues to this day. The band’s repertoire ranges from the contemporary to the traditional, including commission of new works for the wind band by many of the finest composers of ourtime. Comprised of both Music Majors and Non-Majors, the members of the NDSU Wind Symphony come from a wide array of backgrounds and disciplines. Under the direction of Dr. Warren Olfert, students work tirelessly from the practice room to the concert hall to create musical artistry for audiences across the Midwest and the nation."
