The People & the Environment Class had a blast at the Sustainability Challenge at the University of Minnesota Morris on November 15. Students toured several sites to learn more about making rural communities stronger with energy independence. Joining a group of over 150 students from 8 different counties, our students got a close-up look at a wind turbine, solar panels, a prototype battery, and much more. It was a great experience!

Osakis High School now has a National Honor Society chapter! This is a very exciting and fun way to get our top scholars the recognition they deserve and to provide opportunities for them to share their talents and dedication with our school and community. To be eligible to apply for NHS, juniors need to have a cumulative GPA of 3.6 and seniors need to have a cumulative GPA of 3.4. They also need to meet the criteria established in the NHS bylaws. There will be a short meeting with all students that are eligible to apply tomorrow afternoon. I am so excited to get this chapter going and to see these students shine!
