There are many factors that our Administration will consider when determining how we can preserve the safety of our students and staff. Those factors are: wind-chill temperature, visibility, and road conditions. We receive early reports from the National Weather Service that alert us to upcoming or projected weather conditions that we should monitor. We communicate with other School Districts in our area to share information that might be critical in making a decision. We communicate with people in all areas of our School District to monitor the road conditions in the townships we serve.
We have options that would allow us to start a school day later or finish a school day early, preserving our in-person instructional time with our students while keeping our options for School Cancellation or E-Learning as the last possible resort. We could have 1 hour, 2 hour, or 3 hour late starts and early dismissals could occur at any point after students started school. We have two days factored into our School Calendar that would not have to be made up should we have to cancel school. The next two dates would be E-Learning days, where students would have assignments to complete given to them ahead of time. The next two days would be made up on April 6 and May 29. Finally, we have the option of three more E-Learning days. Should we require more than these 9 days, we would have to make an adjustment to our calendar.
Communication is critical to navigating any uncertainty our Minnesota Winter imposes. We do not want to be too quick to make a cancellation decision, so please be aware of where and how to be notified of our most recent decisions:

Please help our bus drivers by clearly marking your driveway so we can keep our buses from getting stuck.
Parents/Guardians, please be aware of communication from our Principals regarding expectations of your students on any E-Learning days and how to work with our teachers on those days.
All that said, we hope it is an enjoyable Winter with very few disruptions to our Calendar!
