Student Council is planning on having the "Fun Day" on Wednesday, January 23rd. That day, you have the option of going to Andes Tower Hills, roller skating, bowling/and a movie, Arrowwood waterpark, ice fishing, and other options still being finalized. It is an ALL DAY event where you wouldn't have school. In order to participate, you can't be failing a class or have behavior problems. 2nd quarter ends the week before on January 16th. Use the next few weeks to get your grades up to passing so you are not left behind at school for the day!
From now until Christmas break, Close Up students will be selling hot chocolate, out of the concessions stand, to students for $2.00 a cup! They will sell in the morning until 8:20 a.m.
FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) meets every Friday at 7:30 a.m. in the Choir room. All students and staff are welcome! Rolls and juice are provided.

Minnesota West Community & Technical College Awarding Workforce Development Scholarships. Minnesota West Community & Technical College will once again be participating in the Workforce Development Scholarship program by awarding ten $2,500 scholarships to students who plan to enroll at Minnesota West for the Fall 2019 term. Scholarship recipients will need to complete at least 9 credits per term and maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA. Application information is available online. ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIPS ANNOUNCED Pioneer Heritage Conservation Trust will be taking applications through February for four or more 2019 post-secondary scholarships. Included are the Vernon P. Ostrom Scholarship, the Harvey K. Nelson Scholarship, and the Dean A. Elmer Scholarship. Each is $500 or more, as determined by the Board of Directors. Applications are open to students who are or will be attending a college or university as a full-time student with a major in the field of environmental sciences. Applicants must be a resident of Douglas, Pope, Grant or Otter Tail county. The successful applicants will be chosen based on scholastic success and demonstrated interest in the environmental sciences. Established in 1985, the mission of the Trust is to promote long–term stewardship of the land and its resources through conservation projects, conservation education, grants and scholarships. Members and guests are invited to attend the quarterly meetings held in Evansville, Minnesota. There are countless career opportunities in ag every year, Grow Ag Leaders awards more than $500,000 in scholarships to students studying in ag-related fields. In 2019, more than 350 scholarships totaling more than $500,000 will be awarded across the U.S. The opportunities in agriculture are limitless. Grow Ag Leaders encourages high school seniors to college juniors to apply for a $1,500 scholarship to support their higher education in ag-related fields of study. Applications are now open. WOMEN GOLFERS... This will be the 21st year that we are offering the Minnesota Women’s Golf Association (MWGA) Foundation Scholarship to graduating senior girls. The scholarship is for the amount of $3,000 per year, renewable for four consecutive years which totals $12,000. It is made available to high school senior girls residing in Minnesota and planning to enroll in a four year college program the year the application is submitted.
